Emerald Toucanets, Silky-flycatchers, Chlorophonias, Hummingbirds, Tanagers, The Resplendent Quetzal, Collared Trogon, Thrushes and much more including a good number of regional endemics shared with western Panama.

The tropical cloud forest of Savegre Valley it’s a great habitat for more than 150 species of birds. During our full day of birding in this region we visit well conditioned gardens with bird – friendly feeders and native plants, same as trails into this humid and gorgeous ecosystem in search of elusive species like the Silvery-fronted Tapaculo, Wood-Quails, Quail-Doves, Wrens and more.
Los Quetzales National Park and the Subalpine Paramo are also part of this birding journey. On the way back we visit Bosque del Tolomuco as final stop, this is a private 22 hectare reserve that offers a combination of highland and middle elevation species, open areas and forest edges where good mixed flocks concentrate. This nice elevation of 1700 m.a.s.l. makes birding delightful and produce good species: Red-headed Barbet, Tanagers, Snowy-bellied Hummingbird, Scale-crested Pygmy Tyrant and Foliage-gleaners.
